On the 01 June 2018 , The Minister of Energy, Honourable Jeff Radebe hosted The Energy Sector Roundtable Stakeholder Engagement. Meta Mhlarhi, The Black Energy Professionals(BEPA) Chairperson also delivered a speech.

Addressing a forum of over 500 business people, the chairperson of Black Energy Professionals Association (BEPA), Meta Mhlarhi, stated that black professionals were no longer happy with being taken in as empowerment partners in energy projects.

“We don’t want to be empowerment partners. We want to drive the programme, and we have identified different blockages that act as barrier to entry,” said Mhlarhi.
